Sister of the legendary Bushra Ansari, Asma Abbas made her comeback in the industry after 22 years and her two projects Ranjha Ranjha Kardi and Deewar e Shab have proved that she is here to stay.

While speaking to BBC Asian Network, the actress opened up about her wish to get a difficult and challenging role.
Being praised for her acting skills as Bhola’s mother in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, the actress stated that there are limited roles for women of her age on television.
She further expressed her disappointment by saying that they are made to do mom roles and that too not powerful.
Asma also stressed upon the fact that people of her age have issues like a midlife crisis, problems that couples face after 15-20 years of marriage, and the age gap between the couples. These are big problems and these should be addressed.
Women according to Asma Abbas are more energetic and age slower in comparison to men who become boring faster.
The actress touched upon the fact that after rejecting 6 scripts she chose to do Ranjha Ranjha Kardi because of the strong character that she was getting to play.
Asma Abbas strongly feels that the senior actress such as Deeba Begum, Zareen Parna, Anjum and Bara Sharif, etc should get appreciated for their contribution to the film industry and that they should be recognized now as these days the focus is only on the younger lot who have no comparison with the legends.
On another note, she talks about her upcoming project ‘Zebaish’ with her sister Bushra Ansari.
