The year 2019 turned out to be a massive game-changer for Pakistani dramas with Hum TV setting the precedent with quality stories, including Khaas, Ishq Zahe Naseeb, Ehd e Wafa, and Inkaar.
With the beginning of a new decade, there are new tasty treats of entertaining series over the horizon that we are excited about. A plethora of quality content is on its way, boasting diverse tales, our favorite faces, and binge-worthy episodes.
We have rounded up a list of upcoming dramas that we will be soon seeing on our television screens and are bound to leave a mark on our hearts this year.
With promising plots, fresh pairs and distinct genres, Hum TV dramas this season are vying to raise the bar even higher!
Here’s to enjoying a TV-tastic 2020!
Pyar Ke Sadqay
Quirky, fun and musical; Pyar Ke Sadqay’s fascinating teasers are doing the rounds on social media and the hype for the drama is high in the air.
Starring Yumna Zaidi, Bilal Abbas and Yashma Gill in pivotal roles, it will be amongst the first dramas that we will be seeing in the New Year.
Farooq Rind, the man behind blockbuster dramas like Ishq Zahe Naseeb and Gul e Rana, is the director of the drama and Zanjabeel Asim Shah has penned the plot.
The teasers themselves are different from the norm with intense chemistry crackling between our unconventional lead pairs. We are loving Yumna and Bilal in goofy, doll-like avatars, grooving away on our screens in an almost dream-like state.
Also spotted in the teasers are Atiqa Odho and Omair Rana, giving us a strong inkling that they will have a complicated role in the story.
One thing is for sure, Pyar Ke Sadqay is going to be an epic ride that will be worth getting hooked on to!
Mushq
There are many reasons that makeMushqthe most anticipated drama of 2020.
To begin with, the versatile Imran Ashraf is both the hero and the writer of the story. He has floored Pakistan with both his acting and writing trysts, making us eagerly wait for Mushq!
This drama will also mark the return of Urwa Hocane on television after a long hiatus. Previously, we saw her in Udaari in 2016 and have been missing her ever since.
Most importantly, the veteran director Aehsun Talish is the brain behind this project. Earlier teaming up for Tabeer, the old gang of AehsunTalish and Imran Ashraf have united yet again for this story.
With award-winning dramas like Alif Allah Aur Insaan and Suno Chanda under his belt, Talish is bound to roll out something extraordinary on our screens. His current venture Ye Dil Mera bears evidence of his remarkable work.
Wondering what Mushq will be all about? Here’s what AehsunTalish had to tell us about the story:
Mushq is a play about love, about how can anyone hide or stay away from this notion of love, its smell, and aroma. The fragrance envelopes you eventually, and that’s what Mushq is all about.
In a heart-to-heart with Hum TV Spotlight, Imran Ashraf revealed that he has worked hard for this project and is excited about its release.
I like to write whenever I have time and Mushq was in development for some time. The title is inspired by Ishq Mushq because it is as much about Ishq as it is about Mushq.
We have tried to attach it with the title so that it stands out as well as seem different. All I can say about the drama is that both AehsunBhai and I have tried to come up with something that is both arty and commercial.
Sabaat
Uniting on our screens for the first time, the dapper Usman Mukhtar and the svelte sweetheart Sarah Khan will be seen together in the upcoming drama ‘Sabaat’.
Not much is known about the story as it is still in the works. Usman will be essaying the role of Dr. Haris while Sarah will be donning the character of Miraal. The drama is being directed by Shehzad Kashmiri of Anaa, Yaqeen Ka Safar, and Bin Roye fame.
Such is the excitement for Sabaat that the internet is flooded with memes of fans that are desperately anticipating the drama to come out soon.
Well, we don’t have the teasers or the OST yet of the drama. But the hilarious memes on Sabaat will make your day!
Kashf
After Ishq Tamasha, Junaid Khan is back with a bang on Hum TV with ‘Kashf’!
And boy, does he look handsome in his new look. Sporting a sexy stubble and flaunting a youthful avatar, the singer-turned-actor is oozing the ultimate ‘guy-next-door’ charm in the sneak peeks.
The best part is that Hira Mani will be seen across Junaid in the drama. Their pair has become iconic over the years and flaunt electrifying chemistry.
Danish Nawaz has taken the director’s seat for Kashf. Last year, he blessed us with Khaas’s gripping tale, making it one of the most trending dramas of 2019.
What he has in store for us this time? Let’s wait and watch.
Other than these dramas, we will be seeing Sami Khan, Kinza Hashmi, Ali Safina, Hajra Yamin and many more in exciting stories on Hum TV this year! Stay tuned to find out what’s coming up next.
