Success has hugged Hira Mani like a warm, cozy blanket!
She is on a roll, with back-to-back hits and her fan-following is growing by manifolds. The thespian is always making headlines. Sometimes, it is for a project that she has aced or a statement that she has made!
Nevertheless, she is loved, adored, and even hated. Yet, she is good-naturedly welcoming everything and everyone, grateful for the admiration and criticism alike.
The unapologetic starlet is back with a bang on Hum TV with the spooky ‘Kashf’- a tale of a young girl who predicts the future via her mysterious dreams.
Sharing the screen with the rockstar Junaid Khan, Hira has high hopes from the drama and is all praises for the director, Danish Nawaz for crafting the project with all his heart and soul.
Occupied with her charity work for Corona Virus relief, Hira enjoyed a candid chat with us over what Kashf is all about. In this unfiltered heart-to-heart, the actress spills the beans over working with Junaid Khan all over again, dealing with haters and working with her husband!
Congratulations on your recent success for Meray Pass Tum Ho. Tell us about Kashf! Are you expecting it to be ground-breaking as well?
I feel that we all love our achievements. In my short span of a career, I have gotten a break at a very early stage. I expect Kashf to be a success and I always work with such passion to ensure that I do justice to my projects. When I go on sets, I consider myself as labor. This requires sweat, devotion, and patience.
However, it needs the effort of a lot of people to make it a hit. And we never know the name behind it that will become a reason for its success. So I always try my best to make every single project of mine worth a watch.
How did you prepare for such a challenging avatar, given that the topic can also stir controversy amongst the audience?
Imran Nazir always produces amazing scripts. However, I will give the ultimate credit for this challenging role to Danish Nawaz. He conveyed and discussed the entire idea and script with me. The entire cast worked on his path and instructions. The wavelength of all characters is the same.
Not just me, all of the actors working in the drama helped each other and helped to make their characters larger-than-life. We have indeed intended to create a buzz with this topic. However, this buzz has been created by Danish, and let’s see how the audience perceives it.
You and Junaid Khan have now become a perfect pair for each other as you have starred in so many dramas together. Do you think he is lucky for you?
I and Junaid Khan have become a rocking pair in the industry. I am extremely happy that whenever I work with him, people watch the drama and love it.
When I did Sun Yara with Junaid, which was also directed by Danish Nawaz, our love story was shown in a different light. We did two or three projects more. However, they didn’t create the buzz that Sun Yara did.
However, a certain aspect of our romance in Sun Yara will repeat in Kashf. The credit of this as well goes to the director, Danish Nawaz. The way the director portrays a romance between the leading pair matters a lot because it creates a direct impact on the audience.
What should be the one reason the audience must watch Kashf? Will the drama have any takeaways for the viewers?
One reason that people will watch the drama is that everybody is a dreamer. And Kashf is doing what everyone in this world does as they sleep. And I believe, the audience will view this drama as they dream like Kashf too.
What makes working with Danish Nawaz time and again so worthwhile?
Danish Nawaz is always like a breath of fresh air and he is such an asset to the industry who has changed the dynamics of the ‘screen’. Transforming the screen is a very tough thing. We see various dramas every day.
However, a director that completely revolutionizes the screen, displays an out-of-the-box project, and manages to create something classy even in fewer resources is a remarkable thing.
I will compare the work of Danish Nawaz with that shown on Netflix. I have seen such work on Netflix only. He does amazing work and he will continue to do so. I consider myself lucky that I have worked with him.
What is your standard for choosing a project?
I don’t have a specific criterion. However, the role should be positive, it should be powerful. I don’t believe in doing baseless characters. I believe that the character should have potential and power that amongst ten other roles if a character is saying something influential, it creates ripples with its authenticity and greatness.
While you have immense fan-following, there are also keyboard warriors too who love to bash! What is your one tip for dealing with haters?
I don’t mind them. If there will be no haters than I will never be able to appreciate those who love me. So having haters is a must and negative comments are necessary. This way, I will be able to realize the importance of positive reactions amongst them.
I like those who bash me because when someone criticizes me and the others send their love, I feel their admiration in manifolds. We are public figures and we cannot ask people on gunpoint to love us. However, we can try to please them with our work. In this media field, you can only be successful with your work. By the grace of Allah, my fan-following has increased with such speed, and its all due to my work.
So many celebrity wives are now opting for projects with their husbands. Any chance we will be seeing you soon in a project with Mani once more?
I have done two projects with Mani. One is Preet Na Kariyo and the other is Bandish. Mani is not so comfortable working with me. I still get comfortable however, Mani starts laughing. And he gives me the example of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena that Saif said in an interview that working with his wife is challenging. So we do it on and off. Let’s see if we land a project soon together.
What is coming up next for Hira?
I want peace to come up next for me. I am doing charity these days and it has given me a lot of peace. I thought I will achieve everything when I become a star. But I realized that real happiness is in being there for others and helping human beings.
