Ye Dil Mera is roaring loud with success and has become amongst the most addictive dramas to watch this season!
The thrill in the plot in every passing episode gets our hearts racing and adrenaline pumping. However, the suspenseful and dark mystery in the story is now gradually unfolding. Mir Farooq Zaman’s extreme lengths of manipulation and deceit are making us detest him to the core.
While the drama has taken us on a throwback journey to Amaan’s childhood, we eventually meet his mother Humaira, played by Zarnish Khan.
While she has a short role in the drama, Khan has owned every scene and played her vulnerable yet strong character so effortlessly that you can feel every emotion Humaira is going through.
The part when Mir Farooq Zaman attempts to assault her grabbed immense eyeballs on social media. Credit goes to the starlet who performed the challenging scene with such intensity and fire in her eyes.
We enjoyed a candid chat with Zarnish to quiz her about her experience while donning the role of Humaria in Ye Dil Mera. In self-quarantine like the rest of us, the starlet had a lot to tell us, especially about the tricky assault scene with Adnan Siddiqui.
Ye Dil Mera fans are loving your powerful acting in the drama. What made you go for this role in the first place?
I’m grateful for all the admiration and appreciation I’ve been receiving. As far as my role is concerned, it was a cameo but had a lot to offer.
As an actor, we have a social responsibility, which is why I choose roles that have an impact and has a message for all the viewers. Likewise, the character of Humaira portrays a dignified, yet a strong personality of a woman. She is educated and has a lot of exposure. At the same time, she is well-rooted. And acknowledges and respects all norms and values of our culture.
How was your experience working with Adnan Siddiqui?
It was an absolute treat working with him. He’s hilarious, and so work seems like a party whenever Adnan Siddiqui is around.
If you would have been alive in the story and could have given one advice to your son played by Ahad Raza Mir, what would it be?
If I was alive, there wouldn’t be a reason for me to bug my kid. And the story of the drama would have either ended or not been so successful because the main plot is based on revenge.
Men like Mir Farooq Zaman very much exist in society. What would be your advice to the women while dealing with such harassment as shown by his character in the drama?
I agree. Since we can’t change or control someone’s bad intentions, every individual should take security measures for themselves. Avoid being in a situation where things could go south. Also, never have any secrets with your family. Always take them in confidence to ensure your safety and security.
Was there any scene that was especially challenging or tricky for you in Ye Dil Mera?
I think the scene where Mir Farooq physically assaulted Humaira was very tricky. Since I have never experienced physical assault, therefore that part was quite challenging.
While performing it, I could only use my imagination to wonder what those girls must go through in such situations. Extremely frightening, I must admit.
What is coming up next for Zarnish?
At the moment I am self-quarantined with my family. I can’t say what’s ahead. Let’s see what life has in store for me.
