Fiery, fearless, and a formidable force in the making, Ameer Gilani is the newfound, breakout star that has become an attractive proposition in the world of entertainment.
Ever since Sabaat made its way on-screen, he has been anointed as television’s new blue-eyed boy. However, people might not have heard of him so much before this drama.
A cursory glance at his career reveals that he made his acting debut with Hum TV’s Log Kya Kahenge. Shehzad Kashmiri’s Sabaat is his second project, that too so huge and he is doing utter justice to his character as Hassan.
He appears to be one of those rare breed of budding stars who create a massive noise in their initial career trajectory and then, there is no stopping them. There appears to be like an iridescent fire in Ameer. You can witness it burning in him as he performs on-screen.
In Sabaat, we see him transforming from a stubborn son to a soft-hearted lover, a rebellious brother to a headstrong professional. He seems to be doing it so effortlessly, looking all dandy and dazzling on our-screen while at it.
All set to forge a deep, lasting path in the glitzy entertainment industry, Ameer is headed straight to crave his success trail long and strong. He is already reading a few scripts, yet is very tight-lipped about what is coming next for him.
We enjoyed a candid chat with the up-and-coming dreamboat. Relaxed, fulsome, and articulate; Ameer was fun to catch up with. Read all about our freewheeling heart-to-heart with him here!
Presenting the new heartthrob on the block – Ameer Gilani
From law to the world of entertainment, how did Ameer Gilani stumbled upon the glamorous world of showbiz?
Acting is something that I’ve always been passionate about and I believe that everyone must follow his/her passion. But education is vital and must not be overlooked. This is the reason I acquired my LLB degree first and then with the support of my family, embarked upon the journey of acting.
How has the journey been so far as Hasan in Sabaat? Did you feel pressurized working in a project that included bigwigs like Mawra, Sarah, and Usman?
Sabaat has been an amazing experience. I have enjoyed every day of the shoot, even the preparation for the role was a lot of fun. I was more excited than pressurized. Working with big names is always a plus point.
How would you describe Hasan given that he has many layers to his character?
The reason why I fell in love with Hassan’s character is that he is as close to reality as it gets. The character has so many shades to him like all of us do or some might have at least one of his characteristics which makes him so relatable yet challenging to portray.
Can we expect Hasan to leave his family forever to live with Anaya?
Hassan is a very positive and optimistic person. So I am sure he will try to mend things and try to solve all problems. But at the same time, he is one of the ‘Farid’s’ which makes him stubborn and strong-headed. So you can expect anything from Hassan when it comes to love.
You and Mawra have become one of the hottest couples of the season! What is that one thing you love about working with her the most?
Mawra’s energy is very positive. She is extremely supportive of her co-stars and especially newcomers. Consequently, I enjoyed shooting with her a lot.
Share your favorite memory from the set of Sabaat.
Sabaat has been an amazing experience. I enjoyed the journey as a whole but one thing that I enjoyed was shooting in Kashmir. It is such a beautiful place with such beautiful people.
Who would you credit for your success so far in Sabaat?
I would credit it all to God because nothing is possible without Him. And then, of course, my parents and little sister for being extremely supportive.
What is coming up next for Ameer?
I am reading a few scripts, trying to pick the right one as I believe in the phrase “quality over quantity”. As soon as I sign something, I’ll be able to talk about it.
On a lighter note
Describe yourself in three words
Dedicated, passionate, and optimistic.
The most hilarious rumor you have heard about yourself
I saw a clip where a person, with confidence at its peak, was saying that I am 30 years old and I’m born on the 10th of August. Whereas I’m 23 and born on the 4th of July.
Hottest Actress in Pakistan’s entertainment industry today
I think all our actresses are extremely attractive and beautiful in their way.
Favorite drama on Hum TV
This is going to be a bias, Sabaat!
Favorite food you can eat your whole life
Chocolate, anything to do with chocolate.
The most interesting thing you read or watched this week
I re-watched The Lord of the Rings trilogy and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had forgotten how beautiful it was made. Extremely ahead of its time, considering it was made in the early 2000s. I also re-watched Sherlock Holmes and I’d recommend that to whoever hasn’t seen the season.
