The teaser of Imran Ashraf and Urwa Hocane’s much-awaited ‘Mushk’ has finally hit our screens and we have so many questions buzzing in our mind!
The promos of the drama have ensured that they don’t give away much of the story to the audience, raising the hype for the project more than ever before. Our hero, Imran has yet again donned a unique look. His chevron moustache and sassy shades alone have changed so much of his appearance.
On the other hand, Urwa Hocane is sporting a firecracker avatar and is marking her comeback on the small screen after four years. She was last seen in Udaari and we all know what an impact it created on the entertainment industry and our society, on the whole.
Together, this asymmetrical pair is ready to rock and roll on our screens in what seems to be a tragic love saga. We also spotted Momal Sheikh, Osama Tahir, Raza Talish and Hassan Ahmed in the teasers.
Helmed by the star-director Aehsun Talish and penned by Imran himself, Mushk doesn’t seem like a conventional and inevitable clichéd drama.
However, it is too soon to muse over what this grand project is going to offer us. Consequently, we decided to have a quick chat with the leading hero and writer himself, Imran Ashraf, and the pivotal actor Osama Tahir to spill the beans over what this promising story will be all about.
Read on to know all that they revealed about Mushk:
Gear up for a Tragic Love Story!
Without revealing so much, please share with us Mushk’s story.
Imran Ashraf: Mushk’s story is very out-of-the-ordinary. Every character in the story is important and there is no filler character. Urwa is the backbone of Mushk’s script. The title is inspired by Ishq Mushk because it is as much about Ishq as it is about Mushk.
We have tried to attach it with the title so that it stands out as well as seem different. All I can say about the drama is that both Aehsun bhai and I have tried to come up with something that is both arty and commercial.
Osama Tahir: Mushk is a story about love found, lost, and found again. And with it comes the troubles and turbulences of being in love. Essentially it’s a fight for true love.
How is your character like in the play?
Osama Tahir: It’s a character I haven’t done as of yet! Be it TV, film or theater. And for that, I’m very excited! Working with Imran Ashraf is fantastic. Not only he is a fun actor but also loves to go back and forth with the script, even though he wrote it. (Laughs)
Will Mushk have a moral lesson for society like your past dramas? Why should the audience watch it?
Imran Ashraf: We have raised a lot of important matters in the drama. Several truths have been highlighted in Mushk which are bitter and harsh, but a reality indeed. But wherever truth is voiced, the result always turns out to be worthwhile.
Osama Tahir: The great thing about Mushk is that it doesn’t force down ideals and social injustices as some other serials do. But at the same time, it talks about a lot of injustices that happen and can happen. The audience should watch it for love. It’s been a while since a tragic love story has been seen on Pakistani television.
We will be soon catching up with Urwa Hocane to dish more about her experience working with Imran Ashraf. Here’s to hoping that this project turns out to be super successful for the entire team of Mushk!
