Sabaat: Miraal is all set to destroy yet another innocent life!

With twenty-six episodes down, Sabaat continues to impress us, keeping us hooked with its previous episode.

The women of the drama have been stealing the spotlight throughout and the prior episode was yet again owned by Sarah Khan, Simi Raheel, and Mawra Hocane.

However, Sarah’s performance, over time, as Miraal has become so well-synced and even more lethal that we cannot even imagine someone else essaying the hard-core avatar. All credit goes to Kashif Anwar for penning such larger-than-life characters and to the director, Shehzad Kashmiri for his masterful direction of the script.

Let’s take a quick review of what Sabaat has been up to this Sunday!

The Plot

The episode begins with Anaya (Mawra Hocane) and her mother (Simi Raheel) contemplating their financial woes. They haven’t recovered from the death of Anaya’s father (Muhammad Ahmed) and on top of it, they were scammed and lost all the money in their bank account. Both mother and daughter are musing and planning over their own on how to save their home.

However, Anaya comes up with a plan to set up an online baking business. Since she is with a child, she has taken a six-month leave from the office. With the support of her mother and friends, she kick starts her venture and things start to shape up for her. But after six months, she shuts it down after she makes enough money to support her family. What’s more, God blesses her with a son after a long period of struggle and hard work.

Haris (Usman Mukhtar) is clueless over how to clean down the mess that has erupted with Miraal. Even Dr. Murad (Meiraj Haq) tries to have a word with Miraal over the matter but the poor guy received the insult of a lifetime as he visits her in her office.

Miraal (Sarah Khan) is fixated over the thought that Haris (Usman Mukhtar) cheated on her. She is all set to part ways with him and instructs Hassan to do the same with his wife. Of course, she didn’t even give heed to her parent’s advice, consumed with the belief that she did a huge mistake by marrying Haris.

While she gears up and gets the divorce papers ready, Haris pleads her that he will never part ways with her. This compels Miraal to move the matter to court. Ali (Jahanzeb Khan), who has returned in her life, supports her completely to do so. He plans to marry her but we have an inkling that he will leave our savage female antagonist high and dry all, over again.

Meanwhile, our icy queen is about to destroy one more life i.e. of Anaya and Haris’ newborn baby Ibrahim. She and Atif (Abbas Ashraf Awan) have been planning the whole game to separate our favorite couple all this time. But they have surely crossed a major line by keeping Anaya’s pregnancy a secret from everyone. We wonder what she is planning next to ensure that Hassan never knows about his child.

A strong message imparted

This episode was owned by Simi Raheel and Mawra Hocane as their sweet mother-daughter chemistry bought a smile on our face. We loved the scene where Simi Raheel wears a lipstick just to cheer Anaya up and motivate her that there is still more to life. It is commendable how Sabaat imparted positivity via this deep scene. In other Pakistani dramas, we often witness elderly widows cursing their fate and feeling dejected over how their life has ended.

But Sabaat showed how Anaya’s mother became a symbol of strength for her daughter. She was broken to the core from inside but she summoned up the courage, put up a smiling face to inspire Anaya. Even more beautiful was how we saw Anaya getting empowered, given the fact she was separated by her husband and was expecting. She boldly ran her business, took the orders, and gathered enough money to support her home. In all these moments, Simi Raheel and Mawra’s performances were top-notch, making us admire their adorable duo on-screen.

Usman Mukhtar had lesser screen time in this episode, but he nailed the scene when he receives the divorce papers and confronts Miraal. Over the past episodes, we have seen his composed and calm face as his character demanded. This time we saw him shiver with shock and even a little teary-eyed from the heartbreak.

No review is complete without the mention of Sarah Khan and her snobby avatar of Miraal. Her character is rising on the crazy-meter and Khan is carrying it all with aplomb. She oozes vengeance and bitterness from her expressions. The last time, we loved a villain so much was Salma’s character in Khaas, played by Hira Tareen.

We missed Muhammad Ahmed’s character immensely in this episode. We are even longing for Anaya-Hassan’s romantic equation to return to the story. But will we get lucky? Only time will tell. The promo of the next episode didn’t reveal much. But we have a hunch that Anaya will be losing her job, now that she has returned after six months. What more havoc will Miraal create in everyone’s’ lives? Let’s wait and watch!
