Ye Dil Mera has been racing away on our TV screens with its thrilling storyline for the past eight months.
We are eagerly waiting for the ultimate showdown in its much-anticipated final episodes. At the same time, we don’t want Ye Dil Mera to end. Who knows when we will see Ahad and Sajal in a project next! Come to think of it, we got blessed with this drama after ages of Yaqeen Ka Safar.
With the top drama finally gearing for a smashing end, its fans have a tiny complaint that the plot has slowed down. Of course, everyone is craving to know the subsequent fate of all the characters.
Will Mir Farooq Zaman be brought to book by Amaan? What will happen to Amaan and Aina? Will they remain together or will there be an end to their love story? Is somebody going to die? All these questions have been buzzing in our heads for the last four weeks.
We got in touch with the writer of the story, the women with the magical pen Farhat Ishtiaq to quiz her about what is going to happen next in Ye Dil Mera. Certainly, she would not have revealed the end but we inquired her nevertheless to satiate our curiosity.
Here’s what we learned from our conversation with her. It seems like more twists are coming soon in the upcoming last episodes of Ye Dil Mera.
Gear up for some more suspense!
For those who have been ardent followers of the drama will know that the death of Aina’s mother has forever been a mystery.
In the recent episodes, we realized that she was shot dead after she escaped Mir Farooq Zaman’s detention. However, some of the viewers mused that there is a possibility that she might still be alive or kept in hiding. Also, others thought that there might be another major death of a character in the drama.
Read what the writer has to say about this:
I have tried my best since the beginning to surprise the audience at every turn and bring unpredictability to the plot. I hope I have been successful so far and have tried my best that even the conclusion turns out unpredictable.
The fate of Aina’s mother had been purposely kept questionable, that maybe she is alive or kept hidden somewhere by Ali Baksh. Maybe Ali Baksh played a double game with Mir Farooq Zaman. I had kept these things intentionally a secret in the plot. Likewise, Aina and Amaan’s fate, whether they will part and which of the main characters will remain alive, have also been kept a surprise.
However, as a writer I believe, the end is justified and has done justice to all the fate of the characters.
We hope that like Yaqeen Ka Safar, Ahad and Sajal remain united till the end. Nonetheless, if the writer has planned the death of the main character, we sincerely wish it’s not the hero and heroine of the drama. We surely won’t miss Mir Farooq Zaman. He deserves the most brutal punishment for his vile actions.
But what could be an ideal end to the tale?
Ye Dil Mera is not a run-of-the-mill drama. It kept us on tenterhooks at every turn. Also, it did complete justice to its genre of being a powerful romantic-thriller. For the remaining pieces of the puzzle to fall into place, we are just holding on and waiting for the end.
We asked Farhat Ishtiaq what she would have advised her characters if all of them were real. Her answers were all that we want the fate of these characters in an ideal world.
Farhat: If these were real characters, Mir Farooq Zaman should be handed to the police since he will never change.
For Aina and Amaan, as they have grown with childhood trauma, it is advisable that they seek therapy so they indulge in normal life. It is not their fault how their life turned out to be but they have been subjected to extreme oppression. They should seek therapy to help themselves with the pain.
But has she planned the same eventual conclusion in the drama as well? We can only wait for the ultimate finale to finally hit our screens!
Ahad Raza Mir & Sajal Aly Deserve Applause
Last year, Ahad Raza Mir created a massive buzz after winning the Betty Mitchell Award for his performance in Canadian theatre play Hamlet, in the category of Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama.
Most Pakistanis have surely not witnessed his commendable performance in Hamlet. However, witnessing his intense acting in Yeh Dil Mera, we have realized that Ahad deserves all the international and local accolades in the world. At a very young age, he has become an essential scene-stealer. If a story needs some class, he gives his A-game to the project and it’s pretty evident from his career trajectory.
Some of the most significant scenes performed by Sajal Aly in Ye Dil Mera reminded us of her outstanding acting in her Bollywood debut ‘Mom’. She has grown even more phenomenal over the years, her craft getting finer with time. Her intense dedication to her role as Aina has made it a memorable character and she deserves all the praise for it.
Both the thespians did justice to bring out the matter of childhood trauma, as intended by the writer. The recent episodes raised various objections by the viewers over Aina being unreasonable and planning to prove her father’s innocence just by being confined to a room. We asked Farhat what she has to say about the doubts raised by the fans.
Farhat: The audience will only know through the last episode my real message in the story as I intended to touch upon the issues of childhood trauma and mental health. By the last episode, the audience will realize the reason behind some of Aina’s actions. She was not normal, hence most of her actions were also not normal. The same was with Amaan. Their childhood was marred by murders of their mothers. And they grew up to be troubled adults. Consequently, no actions of theirs can be deemed normal.
There are still a couple of episodes left till Ye Dil Mera bids farewell to us. True, the story has gotten slow but let’s enjoy it while it lasts. Here’s to hoping there is a happy ending to our favorite tale!
